Only the basement and chimney of Redwing, the men’s dormitory, remains. The main floor burned, destroying mattresses and plastic totes filled with sleeping bags and extra clothing. The steel bunk bed frames tumbled into the space below, where fire destroyed the John Deere tractor and the club’s trailer.
The heavy wooden workbench on the far wall is gone, but black marks show where the surface of the bench used to be. All the club’s tools, paint and lumber are destroyed.
The Nesika water fountain remains and the water system is still flowing (photo below). The red paint on the walls of Redwing’s basement is unblistered and the only sign of fire is the scorch marks along the base of the wall.

Looking over Redwing’s basement towards Waespe Point and the site of the women’s dorm.
